Pitch Reports

R. Premadasa’s pitch has always been considered a paradise for spinners. The same trend is visible in the World Cup 2026. As the match progresses, the pitch slows down and becomes a spin tracker. Batsmen score runs easily during the power play, but as the innings progress, it becomes difficult to score runs.

Thank you to Kusal Mendis :

Thank you, Kusal Mendis; thanks to you, Sri Lanka stood the target of 163. When Kusal Mendis took the field today, his mind was on something else. Today, he skipped the big boundary and focused on the gaps. The bowler should note down in his mind who to hit and who not to hit.

Mendis missed out on a six today but left 56 runs for the team with his five fours.

Paul Stirling can’t play, you take wickets quickly. Ross  Addair and Harry Tector took the score to 45/1 in the power play. Thanks to Harry Tector up front and Ross Adair, we avoided conceding in the power play.

Because wickets were falling simultaneously. They scored 72 runs in their middle overs, thanks to Tector and Adair, and lost 3 wickets. But he couldn’t make his team win. I had said that Sri Lankan scores 59 runs in his death overs; this will be the way. Ireland is broken too soon.
